Explore Young Engineers

Young Engineers at Tiny Woodland

We are excited to introduce Young Engineers as part of our Summer Program and upcoming Fall Preschool Curriculum!

This hands-on STEM program gives children the opportunity to explore engineering, problem-solving, creativity, and early coding concepts in a fun and age-appropriate way. Through Big Builders and AlgoBuddy, children learn by building, experimenting, and working together while developing confidence and critical thinking skills.

During our summer program, Young Engineers lessons will take place on Monday and Tuesday mornings. Each lesson is designed as a 20-minute hands-on experience each day, with one complete lesson split across the two days to give children time to explore, create, and fully engage with the concepts being taught.

Beginning this fall, Young Engineers will officially become part of our preschool curriculum as we continue expanding opportunities for STEM learning, creativity, and innovation at Tiny Woodland Child Care and Preschool.

We are so excited to bring these engaging learning experiences to our students and help inspire the next generation of thinkers, builders, and creators!

Big Builders

Big Builders (Ages 3)

Big Builders is our hands-on STEM program specially designed for our youngest learners! Through colorful oversized building pieces, children explore the exciting world of engineering, creativity, and problem-solving in a way that feels like play.

Children work together to build fun models while learning important early childhood skills such as:

Fine motor development
Following directions
Problem-solving
Teamwork and communication
Early math and science concepts
Creativity and imagination
Confidence and resilience

Our Big Builders program helps children strengthen critical thinking skills while encouraging curiosity and a love for learning. Each lesson is designed to be engaging, age-appropriate, and full of discovery as children explore how things move, connect, and work together.

At Tiny Woodland Child Care and Preschool, we believe children learn best through hands-on experiences, and Big Builders gives our 3-year-olds the perfect foundation for future STEM learning in a fun, supportive environment.

Algo Buddy

AlgoBuddy (Ages 4–5)

AlgoBuddy is an exciting early coding and engineering program designed especially for preschool and kindergarten-aged children. Through hands-on building activities, interactive challenges, and playful robotics concepts, children begin learning the foundations of coding, sequencing, logic, and problem-solving — all without screens.

Children work together to create fun moving models while developing important school-readiness and STEM skills such as:

Early coding and sequencing
Critical thinking
Engineering concepts
Problem-solving skills
Creativity and innovation
Teamwork and communication
Focus and persistence
Confidence in learning new challenges

AlgoBuddy introduces children to the world of technology and engineering in a fun, age-appropriate way that encourages curiosity and resilience. As children build, test, and improve their creations, they learn that mistakes are part of learning and that perseverance leads to success.

At Tiny Woodland Child Care and Preschool, we love helping children become confident thinkers, creators, and problem-solvers. AlgoBuddy gives our 4- and 5-year-olds an engaging introduction to STEM learning that prepares them for future success in school and beyond.
